Professor John A. Goldsmith and his team at the Department of Linguistics of the University of Chicago received Prof. Pham Thi Ngoc Yen and Prof. Eric Castelli in their laboratory for a discussion and a visit during which were discussed the possibilities of cooperation between the two parts. Exchanges of young researchers (masters), co-supervised PhD students and joint research projects have been mentioned tracks. The discussions were very warm and motivated. The common scientific themes will focus on the linguistics of Asian languages, the "computational linguistic" and the study of endangered languages.

The visit of the "Department of Linguistics" was followed by the visit of the "Department of Computer Science" where Prof. Andrew A. Chien and his team have also received very friendly the MICA
direction. The same cooperation slopes were discussed, but then on scientific topics around mobile and embedded computing for applications, processing of images and videos, and ambient intelligence.
