Alexis Michaud has been elected to the Council of the International Phonetic Association (IPA) for 2015-2019.

 

Within the International Phonetic Association's overall aim "to promote the scientific study of phonetics and the various practical applications of that science", A. Michaud will be one of the representatives of the following strands: (i) phonetic documentation and research about un(der-)documented languages, and (ii) collaboration between phoneticians and speech technology engineers.

 

The new Council will meet at the August ICPhS meeting, where MICA will present two papers.
