Résumé/abstract:
The Ph.D thesis named: "Automatic localization and navigational for blind people using mobile smart devices", that will be conducted by Nguyen Quoc Hung at the Center for Mica - Hanoi University of Technology is to study and develop a system to help the visually impaired by robots. The system will help blind people to navigate freely in the environment, avoid obstacles, and take notice of their surroundings through friendly human robot interaction. To build such that system, 3 main issues to be considered: localization, object detection and recognition; human robot interaction. The objective of this thesis is to improve the localization precision by using multimodal information and to develop an efficient method for human-robot interaction then integrate in a system for real application, limited in the context of a room.
