All foreign citizens do need a visa to enter Russia!

Russian Federation is neither in the EU nor in the Schengen zone.

  • Russian visa is mandatory for citizens of almost all countries of the world (including the EU, USA, Japan, Africa, etc.). Please check your country: and

  • At first please contact a Russian embassy in your country to get actual requirements.

  • The easiest way is to obtain a TOURIST visa. For tourist visa support Monomax Conference Service Agency (the official partner of SLTU) can assist providing participants with tourist visa support papers (invitation and hotel voucher) on the dates of SLTU +/- a few days (but not more than 14 days in total). Monomax has a reference number of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Visa support documents are issued based on a personal information submitted by each participant during the on-line registration (“Visa Support section”) or on your e-mail request sent to:

  • For scientists from the European Union (but excluding UK) SLTU-2014 organizers can prepare also the invitation letter for a business visa (including scientific purposes and conferences) and send it as a scanned copy or original (if needed), please contact the SLTU Organizing Committee in this case. You will be asked to send a scanned copy of the passport and dates of your trip.

  • The invitation letter for visa is sent to participants just after payment registration fee for SLTU-2014.

To get the tourist visa support documents you need:

  1. At first register for the SLTU-2014 (on-line registration service):

  2. To book hotel accommodation through the system of online registration and to pay for it OR to book it on your own and to send us the hotel booking confirmation.

  3. To go to the "Visa support" page and fill in the data required.
    You are to choose whether you need a fax/scanned copy or the original. It depends on the country where you apply for visa. Please check the Comments field at the "Visa support" section.

In the case when the original visa support documents are requested by the embassy:

  1. You should pay for the invitation voucher delivery (express mail expenses) through the online registration as well;

  2. Please send us the postal address where you'd like the documents to be delivered and your mobile phone number.

Please note:

  • In order to obtain Russian visa, your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after the date of your departure from Russia.

  • According to the Russian migration law concerning registration procedure of foreign citizens on the territory of Russia hotels take all responsibilities for fulfilling this statement; that's why hotels take registration fee (nearly 5-10 EUR per person) that is to be paid by the guest directly to the hotel cash desk upon arrival.

  • The deadline for Tourist visa support documents sending by the Monomax/Rustour service agency is April 24, 2014.

  • Important guidelines to proper filling in your visa application will be sent to you together with the visa support documents.
